Deirdre is originally from Co. Cork and graduated from UCD in 2010. As a new graduate, she worked in mixed practice in Co Monaghan for three years, before joining the team at Southview Veterinary Hospital in Clonmel in 2013.
After developing a special interest in treating cardiac patients, she completed her post graduate certificate in Small Animal Cardiology in 2019. She is a member of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology as well as the UK’s Veterinary Cardiovascular Society with whom she has regularly attended international conferences. She has a special interest in echocardiography and chest ultrasound, but also enjoys emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Deirdre and her husband have a lurcher, Lexi, and a whippet, Fuji, who may be two of the most spoiled dogs in Ireland!
