Shane McCarthy

Shane graduated from UCD in 2017 having grown up on a dairy farm in West Cork. Since qualifying, Shane has spent his time working in mixed practice, initially in County Kilkenny, followed by a period in Melbourne, Australia. He joined the team in Southview in February 2021.

Shane has a special interest in internal medicine, dermatology and surgery. He is currently undertaking the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. 

In his spare time, Shane enjoys helping out on his family farm and looking after his two dogs Rex and Mia and his cat Pesky. He also likes running, hiking and following all kinds of sports.
